Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Situated in Yanta District, the Xi’an Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a celebrated ancient structure with deep historical and cultural importance.

Standing at 64.5 meters with a base length of 25.5 meters, it is the oldest and largest four-sided, Tang-style brick pagoda still existing today. Not only a landmark of Xi’an, the pagoda is a significant symbol of Chinese Buddhism. The Buddhist texts and relics within its Pagoda trace the history of Buddhism’s spread in China. Today, the pagoda remains a key site for visitors and a valuable resource for studying Tang Dynasty history and culture, offering tourists a glimpse into the distinctive history and culture of that era in their Xi’an travel.
