Nestled at the base of Cangshan Mountain, Butterfly Spring is a natural spring that emerges from a fault zone in the exposed granite rock, creating a unique and scenic fissure spring in Yunnan Dali.
The spring’s crystal-clear water emerges from underground to form a tranquil, oval-shaped pool. Each spring, thousands of butterflies gather here to lay eggs, creating a spectacular “Butterfly Gathering” event. The beautiful butterfly display, along with fragrant flowers, lush greenery, and clear waters, draws many Yunnan travel visitors. Butterfly Spring is a sacred site for the Bai people, symbolizing love and a good life, and gained fame through the film “Five Golden Flowers”.
