Elephant Trunk Hill, originally known as Lishan or Chenshuishan, is a typical landscape of the Stone Arch Cave type. It is one of the most iconic features of the Longhu Mountain Geopark.
Formerly known as Li Shan, is situated at No. 1 Binjiang Road in Xiangshan District, Guilin City. This scenic area derives its name from the mountain’s resemblance to an elephant drinking water, serving as a prominent symbol of Guilin’s landscape. The unique “Elephant Hill Moon Over the River” scenery is formed by a crescent moon by the river between the trunk and legs of the elephant-shaped mountain. This picturesque setting perfectly aligns with the nearby Moon-Piercing Rock on the east bank of the Li River, creating the extraordinary “Li River Double Moon” landscape. Notable attractions within the Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area include the Water Moon Cave, Elephant Eye Rock, and the PuXian Pagoda, showcasing unique landforms, stunning scenery, and a rich cultural heritage that captivates numerous tourists.
